Her inspiration was also drawn from the work of artists such as the photographer David Hamilton, the poet Jean Cocteau, pre-Raphaelite and symbolist painters, as well as Amedeo Modigliani, Picasso, Matisse, Gustave Moreau and Ingres. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. That slight green ivy note truly takes this scent from a "lolita" candy girl type scent to full-blown forest nymph glory.

I usually love unique fragrances that incorporate underutilized notes – I adore the Hermès Un Jardin collection, Demeter Dirt, Byredo Gypsy Water, Gap Grass – but to me Lolita Lempicka smells like moldy lawn clippings sitting in a black plastic yardwaste bag, emphasis on the plastic. I won’t purchase since it doesn’t work on me, I am just sad I am unable to smell the “magic” so many people get from this. BTW I'm not sure what formulation I received other than it being a little vial of Lolita Lempicka EDP. It’s really difficult to find the original Apple bottle with perfume most people just want to sell you the empty bottle I guess I got really lucky finding this 50 mills almost full and I’m very happy with my purchase.Despite being classified as a gourmand scent, this doesn't tip the scales into total food territory. A talented, romantic and sophisticated woman, she created her brand Lolita Lempicka in 1983 and began her own fragrance collection with the help of her husband and later her three daughters. It's really nice, I don't really like the taste of licorice but always liked the smell of it, in this it's cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, this never worked on my skin as whenever I tried it the powder and vanilla would be so overwhelming on me that it would end up smelling like incense.

Its opening notes include bellini, pepper, mandarin, lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit, leading into a heart of peach, plum, and blackcurrants, adorned with floral notes. At least others have also mentioned that it sits close to the skin and lacks sillage/longevity; I know it's not "just me. Upon first spray, it smells like those canned hair dyes or how you spray silly string and it gives a strange synthetic smell (I’m guessing that’s the licorice + anise) The cherry and the iris comes in after about a minute and tones down the anise and licorice, making it smell absolutely beautiful!

With LL it seems people either love it or rather dislike it, and it has both effects on me on different days, strangely enough. It's not the original in the beautiful apple bottle unfortunately and I havent gotten to smell that formulation. My bottle is a few years old, and this formula has a tendency to separate and get cloudy; but the fragrance, it always stays the same.
